RESOURCE AND TRAINING CENTRE

On May 27 – 29 a "Reproductive health peculiarities. the parents’ role in the children’s, teenagers’ and young people reproductive health care and improvement” training course for the foster parents, guardians and adopters was held. 25 participants took part in it. The participants noted that the training course had been very interesting and informative, as parents often rely on their intuition in such a delicate matter as teenagers’ sex education. And the training course provided them witht the opportunity to become more informed about the teenagers’ reproductive health. The parents also appreciated the opportunity not only to learn new things but to meet the co-thinkers and to exchange their experience.

On the eve of the most important Christian holiday, the St Vladimir cathedral curacy supported by the Ukrainian National Artists’ Union organized Easter Pallette contest of children’s drawings and utilitarian works. About 200 works and 130 children from Leninsky and Krasnogvardeisky district of Dnepropetrovsk took part in the contest. On May 19, the Myrrhophores day the awards ceremony took place. It was a cycle beginning – the children’s contest holding and the following exhibitions where a lot of people enjoyed the children’s work and filled with their positive energy. And then there was the winners’ endless joy. But the cycle went on. On May 17 and May 19 a special fair took place, the children’s work were sold and 2,061 hryvnias was collected. The money was spent on purchasing the medicine for the cancer children who undergo their treatmen in Regional children clinical hospital.

On May 25 Велодень – 2013 (Cyclo-Day – 2013) took place in Dnepropetrovsk. Theh event gathered a record-breaking 2000 of participants, which means that the amount of environment friendly vehicles lovers is constantly growing in our city, too. Everything began in Lenin Square at nine o’clock in the morning. Registration procedure, workshops, contests, "iron horses” demonstration. Though our volunteers lacked the major holiday attribute – bikes, they joined the friendly company at once. Oh, right, what do our volunteers have in common with the event? The point is, that, due to the Cyclo-Day organizers’ support and Yevhenii Khil’s (our volunteer’s) initiative, we were holding a fundrising event to collect money for the methodics office of the CCP children boarding school. The volunteers shuttled among the cyclers hading out the leaflets and announcing the event. The girls painted the chidren’s and teenager’s faces with water make-up. Let’s go the limit. What a Cyclo-Day would it be without a cyclo-cross. At 11 a.m. all the cyclists went to the tunnel draw, where the fete went on. And of course, our volunteers went on doing their good deed, collecting money and entertaining the children with interesting games. The games participants had not only fun but funny prizes as well. In general, 742.61 hryvnias was collected during the day.

In May the "Mediapassport” programme got a birthday present from the people deputy of Ukraine Oleg Tsarev’s parlor. You are going to ask what kind of present it was? A very pleasant and useful present! 13 billboards advertising the website were placed in Dnepropetrovsk streets!

In May the following articles came out:

- Finding Your Own Way, When the Children Are Ill, Meet Bohdan – a Family Seeker, Registration Open for the Adopters’ Training Course, Will the Disabled Children Be Able to Have a Rest at the Swaside? – 2013 // Reklamnoye Pole (Advertising Field) newspaper;
